Originally named Valerie Jane Morris-Goodall, was a British ethologist known for her exceptional study on Chimpanzees in Tanzania. Armed with her little notebook, and binoculars, Jane braved the wilderness and urged the world to protect the Chimpanzees from extinction. Jane Goodall’s interest in animals already started at a young age. She quit school and worked as a secretary and film assistant from which she found her way into Africa. Jane’s work experience with a paleontologist and anthropologist helped her to establish a camp in Gombe. Her knowledge and experience in her niche enabled her to receive a Ph.D. in ethology from Cambridge University. She was one of the few candidates to receive Ph.D. without taking up an A.B. degree.
