Famous for his notable ideas about irony and paradox, Socrates was a great philosopher who made a huge contribution to the development of modern western philosophy. He was the son of an Athenian stonemason and sculptor father and a midwife mother. Socrates developed his mind by studying music, grammar, and learned sculpting from his father. This legendary figure was the first to develop Greek philosophy and the one who left us this thought that, “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.”
